SOME OF THE RULES:

  • Competitors are required to wear life vests, snugly fastened, anytime their outboard is running.
  • No registered KBI anglers, or anyone planning to register for KBI, will use any kind of underwater television device to study or observe fish in Lake of the Woods from the end of pre-fishing until after the tournament, nor speak to anyone around fish who uses equipment of this nature during the same time frame. (This Rule will be examined in Polygraph sessions.)
  • All prizes are team prizes.

TACKLE ALLOWED:

Only artificial lures and manufactured baits and scents may be used.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE FISH:

This is a catch and release event. Once fish are weighed in on the Harbourfront, the fish are tagged by the Ministry of Natural Resources (if they haven’t been already from previous tournaments), recorded to monitor stock levels, and transported back to the part of the lake they were caught. This helps to ensure fish volumes in various regions of the lake are not disturbed.)
